3.Semester

Assignment:
Development of a 20 piece A/W 26/27 collection, including concept, technical drawings, material and color design, and the realization of three constructed outfits.

Concept:
The collection Vertigo explores the sensation of dizziness and disorientation a state in which the relationship between body and space becomes unstable.

Rather than focusing on visual effects alone, the concept translates a physical and perceptual experience into garment construction. The design is primarily developed through cut, emphasizing structure over decorative elements.

Curved lines, asymmetrical constructions, and shifted seams define the collection, referencing movement, rotation, and imbalance. Draping plays a key role, creating organic and fluid forms that appear dynamic rather than static.

A reduced aesthetic allows the focus to remain on silhouette and construction. The aim is not to directly illustrate disorientation, but to make it subtly perceptible through form and movement.

Process:
I began with visual research, focusing on movement, distortion, and spatial perception. The ideas were explored through initial prototypes to test form and proportion.

From there, the silhouettes were developed further, refining shape and construction through continuous adjustments. The designs evolved step by step, translating the concept into more defined garments.

Selected looks were then developed through pattern making and multiple prototypes. Each piece was refined with a focus on construction, fit, and overall coherence.

The process resulted in three fully constructed outfits, representing the final outcome of the collection.
