2.Semester

Assignment:
Design and develop a complete outfit, including all garment pieces, with a cohesive concept and clear design identity.

Petrichor

Concept:
Petrichor describes the scent that arises when raindrops fall on dry earth. I associate this moment with nature, calmness, melancholy, freshness, and personal memories. The project focuses on the emotional atmosphere after rainfall, a quiet, blurred, and slightly nostalgic mood.

Realisation:
A coat felt like the most natural garment choice for this theme. I began with an initial draped coat design. Originally, I planned a camouflage-like organza layer, but I replaced this idea with a second coat layer to better achieve the intended distortion of the silhouette.

The final outfit consists of layered outerwear, where transparent organza creates a blurred effect over the structured base coat. The silhouette appears softened and slightly shifted, reflecting the atmosphere of rain and memory.
